Dear ECSO-CMS 2024 delegate,
Thank you for participating in this year’s
conference<https://ecso-cms2024.blogs.dsv.su.se/>! I look forward to welcoming you
to Stockholm next week. The scientific
committee<https://ecso-cms2024.blogs.dsv.su.se/chairs/> has prepared a compelling
programme with 56 talks in the parallel sessions and three renowned plenary
speakers<https://ecso-cms2024.blogs.dsv.su.se/invited-speakers/>. This agenda will
hopefully stimulate poignant exchanges, and the social
programme<https://ecso-cms2024.blogs.dsv.su.se/social-program/> should provide a
relaxing atmosphere in which to soak up Stockholm’s best features during the long summer
evenings. You will receive an e-mail from our conference-management partner, AK, about the
venue, meals, and public transit.
The purpose of this e-mail is to fill you in on the procedures for the scientific
programme, viz., your roles as session chairs and presenters. Here are the key points:
1. You can find the scientific
programme<https://ecso-cms2024.blogs.dsv.su.se/program/> online along with the book
of abstracts.
2. The parallel sessions will take place in three locations: Aula Nod, L30, and L50.
The latter is in use only on Friday for two sessions and requires local staff to let you
in. A local conference representative will be available to guide you to L50.
3. Each parallel session has a session chair. The chair’s responsibility is to keep
time and to moderate the discussion. I suggest 22 minutes per presentation including
questions, and there is sufficient buffer to allow for switching speakers. I leave it up
to each chair to decide how to allocate time equitably and to give speakers ample warning
about remaining time per talk.
4. It is advisable to use one laptop per session and to load all of the slides onto it
prior to the start of the session. My suggestion is to use the session chair’s laptop.
Each room has a USB-C cable to enable connection of your laptop with the AV system. Staff
will be on call to assist with any connection issues.
5. A guest Wi-Fi code will be provided in a separate e-mail. Alternatively, if you have
eduroam configured on your devices, then it should also function.
If you have any questions about the scientific organisation of the conference, then please
do not hesitate to contact me. In the meantime, you will receive additional information
about conference logistics from AK as I had mentioned.
Best regards,
Afzal
